YOU ARE THE ARCHITECT OF YOUR LIFE
Imagine taking a magic word and use it to change something about your entire life.
What would you change? Would it be ending procrastination, pursuing creativity, being
more disciplined, having better relationships, being happier with yourself, being more
mindful, learning new skills? Now ask yourself this: what is stopping you from making
this change? The steps to make your change are likely reasonably easy. Then why
don't we make these changes? Zenhabit (2006).
The answer is simple. It is because we have tolerated bullies in our lives. These bullies
are more hardened, stronger bullies, and for these bullies, no matter what we do, we
can't get rid of them. These bullies could echo negative words, saying that you are a
loser and that you would never succeed. This leads to your self-esteem being damaged.
These bullies know our schedule so well that it stalks you 24 hours 7 days a week. We
cannot run away from these bullies because these bullies reside in you. In as much as
we would deny, we are our harshest and loudest bullies. We beat ourselves up and put
ourselves down. Have you ever felt that you are not good enough to do what someone
else is doing? And sometimes we are our most potent enemies (Toastmaster, 2016).
However, because we can never run away from ourselves, something else must
change, and you have to make a choice. Doing so will bring about a turning point in
your life. The best way to deal with inner bullies is to face them, stand firm and
acknowledge them. When you do so, you won't be identified with the bullies. Still,
somewhat you weaken them and live life with a positive attitude that leads to
empowerment and improved life.
Success begins with yourself, with your mind and how you make the most out of your
cognitive abilities. Do not choose to self-sabotage yourselves by absorbing self-
damaging ideas and considering those to be the truth. If these lies become a part of
yourself, you are already trapped, and there is very little chance of you escaping it. You
are going to go through life disappointed, angry at the world on how unfair it is without
realising that you brought most of it upon yourself or others (Alux.com, 2019).
But you cannot continue feeling this way; something must change to get rid of these
bullies. The decision that you need to make lies with what you are generally frightened.
Remember FAILURE IS TEMPORARY BUT REGRET IS PERMANENT. You can
usually rise above these bullies, learn from them and use every opportunity as a
venturing stone to getting yourself near progress.
